Detection of a novel serine protease in plasma – later termed FSAP
Sat, May 30, 2009
Hunfeld and colleagues describe the purification of a novel serine protease from human plasma. The molecule was termed “Plasma Hyaluronan Binding Serine Protease (PHBSP, HABP2)”. N-terminal sequencing revealed that it is a heparan-growth factor-like molecule.
Later, when its Factor VII activating activity had been detected, it was renamed to “Factor VII-Activating Protease (FSAP)”.
